Jason Armstrong Beck takes photographs, and as he likes to say, once in a while they take him. His work is held in several private and corporate collections as well as having been exhibited at the Guggenheim, LACMA, Art Basel and various galleries around the world. Over the years his work has appeared in just about every publication and has been used for ad campaigns, countless album covers, book jackets and more.
As a photojournalist, Jason's essay Streetjack was a weekly feature in the Miami Herald for several years; the rights to his 'observations' being recently acquired by Getty. 'Now Now' a sample from his project ‘Trying to Stop Tomorrow’ will be shown in the summer of 2011.
Recently, Jason's attention has been focused on The Immortals, his tribute to New York City, the city he calls home, with the exhibition slated for the fall of 2013. He has also just completed his short film The Blue Suitcase in support of Sweet Relief, a PSA for the American Cancer Society and an installation film for Angela McCluskey’s Slow Down.
'The Journal of Bison Jack' a collection of Jason’s stories and photographs, will be published in the summer of 2011, along with an accompanying show in LA.
